Welcome to the St. Anthony School Website!

It is our pleasure to welcome not only our parish community but, via computer technology, virtually the rest of the world as well. Our school is one of several Catholic schools in Quincy, Illinois and we are part of the Diocese of Springfield, Illinois.

Built upon the principles of religious education and academic excellence, at St. Anthony School we believe that all children can learn and be successful in life with the guidance of God, their parents and our professional staff.

St. Anthony School incorporates Kindergarten through 8th grade with a student/teacher ratio of 1:14.  There are 5 full time teachers, 1 teacher's aide and 1 principal. Our multi-level instructional model is broken down into Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th. Recent research supports a positive correlation between multi-level instruction and a positive impact in the areas of student attitude, self-concept, as well as personal and social adjustment. Research has shown no differences in academic achievement between children in multi-level and single-level classrooms.

In the Quincy area, St. Anthony School holds several "firsts" among private schools.  Since computer technology has been an important part of our school's philosophy for a long time, we were the first to have both a school-wide Internet and Intranet system. Our I-Net connection provides a high-speed link to a fiber optic system that increases our computers efficiency.  In addition, there are at least 3 computers in every classroom with I-Net access.

Browse our website to gain some appreciation of how unique and wonderful St. Anthony School really is.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
